Trade publication MCV have recently revealed that Future Publishingplan to release a new Edge magazine spin-off in time for Christmas.
Titled 'Edge Presents…File', the magazine is due to hit newsstands in early November. The magazine will be a 260 page collectable title which will cover the history of video games since Edge magazine launched back in 1993.
Five editions of the mag are currently planned, with new issues hitting stores every eight weeks.
James Binns from Future Publishing said:
“Edge readers are loyal collectors, so we know there’s a market for this, We’re going to cover three years per File, with a commentary on what each era was like. This goes beyond just being a ‘retro’ product – it’s a historical document on the evolution of video gaming.”
