Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today revealed that as of today the popular home entertainment system, PlayStation 2 will now only be 129.99 (£94.99) to pick up of store shelves, the 8MB Memory Card has also seen a price drop.
This price reduction has come just in time for consumers to get ready for the slew of software being released in the run up untill Christmas, including new 'SingStar', 'EyeToy' and 'Buzz' titles.
David Reeves, President of SCEE said: At this new price point of 129, the market leading PlayStation 2 should remain the computer entertainment system of choice for an even wider and more diverse audience for many years to come.
Not only did Sony reveal a new price for there best sellign system, they also revealed a new colour to compliment it.
An all new limited edition 'Pink PlayStation 2' will be available throughout Europe from the 8th November 2006 and will come complete with two Pink controllers and a Pink Memory Card. Also at selected retailers for only 159.99 (£129.99) you can grab yourself the new Pink console with a copy of the karoke fun fest, 'SingStar: Pop'!

In addition to this a press release very breifly popped up on Sony's Press site but has since been removed, which gave details of a new Pink PlayStation Portable (PSP)

According to the dissapearing press release the limited edition Pink PSP bundle, is to be released in collaboration with popstar 'P!nk', and will contain the pink PSP, headphones, remote control, pouch, wrist strap, 32MB Memory Stick Duo, and P!nk related downloads via 'YourPSP.com'.
You can expect to get your hands on the Pink PSP on the 27th of October apparantly for the sum of 229 (£169).
So there you have it, cheaper, pinker PlayStation's!
